The quarry figures are from Airgun Depot's published hunting and pest-control guides: the energy to take each one humanely, with correct shot placement. The caliber is their recommendation; the calculator cannot check it. Energy is grains × fps² ÷ 450,240, at the muzzle, and it falls with distance (TPWD recommends 75 yards or closer for big game). It is worked out in your browser, and nothing you type is sent. More on the Texas legal standard.
