Texas recognizes pre-charged pneumatic airguns for whitetail, javelina, pronghorn and bighorn. Big bore platforms at .30 and up, matched to the legal standard and to the range you actually shoot.
Protect the ranch
Hogs cutting up a pasture. A coyote on the fence line at 2 a.m. A quiet shot does not scatter the rest of the sounder, so you get a second and a third. Semi-auto and select-fire platforms, thermal glass, and slugs that hold together.

Caliber, and you only get one guess
Changing your mind later means buying a barrel kit. .22 is where most people should start; .30 is the floor for Texas big game. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you spend it twice.
How you are going to fill it
A pre-charged pneumatic arrives empty. Compressor, tank, or both changes what the setup costs and where you can shoot. Work that out first.
What the barrel actually likes
Barrels are individuals. The projectile your rifle groups best is found by testing, not by reading a chart — which is the whole reason a bench exists.
